This was the final part of my preparatory trips along the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. I haven't made that many photos this time, but I found this picture of a grain warehouse in the surroundings of Brakel pretty cool!

This is a lock in one of the dikes. In times of war, when the surrounded land was flooded, this locks were closed. The lock was closed with a couple of beams. Between the beams it was filled with mud and fertilizer. In this way the so called "coupure" (cut) was closed.
